Hello and welcome to Dweller!

I’m Eli, founder of Dweller. Growing up in Manipur, Northeast India, I found joy in the simple act of creating something good and sharing it with others. It made life feel more meaningful.

As life took me far from home in search of new opportunities, I realised that my heart longed to reconnect with my roots and share that pure essence with the world.

My childhood memories came rushing back - the tart Hei-mang (Sumac Berry) I used to lick off my palm, the vibrant red Roselle blooming in our backyard, and the bittersweet Nong-mang-kha lovingly brewed by elders. Each ingredient held a story, a memory, and a taste of home.

So, I left my career in finance abroad and returned to the grassroots, starting Dweller with the support of Nenes (Dweller Women Makers). What began as an innocent dream, rooted in childhood joy, has grown into a purpose - using business as a tool for lasting social and economic progress.

Running a business in Manipur isn’t easy, especially in the wake of the conflict. But our purpose keeps us going.

By reviving indigenous plants and cherished memories, we focus on improving livelihoods and bringing you pure, authentic flavours that nourish and delight.

At Dweller, we believe true quality starts at the source. We work closely with local growers and wild harvesters, transforming their fresh produce into thoughtfully crafted ingredients.

Over 92% of what we use is made in-house by our Dweller Women Makers, ensuring every sip is crafted with authenticity and care.

Together, we are savouring a better world, one cup at a time.

New to Dweller? We’d love for you to give us a try and share your experience! If you’re already part of the Dweller family, tell us your favourites and thoughts - we are always eager to learn from your experience.

FAQ

Do any of your products contain artificial or natural flavours?

No - only real ingredients. We don't add any artificial or natural flavours.

What are your tea bags (infusion bags) made of?

They are biodegradable tea bags, made from abacá (manila hemp). Our tea bags are non-heat sealable - the folding and crimping is done by the machine, so that it is held together by a cotton string, along with a paper tag.

Does your tea bag contain tea dust or powder?

A common misconception, often used in marketing, is that this type of tea bag contains tea dust, which refers to the smallest particles left after sorting larger leaves. At Dweller, we use fresh fruits, herbs, and spices, carefully sized to fit into our compostable tea bags.

Why are all your tea bags individually wrapped?

This prevents the herbs from deteriorating and keeps them fresh. Exposure to air, light, and humidity can affect the quality of dried herbs, so the sealed packaging ensures the herbs stay fresh until they reach your cup.

Our current envelopes are work in progress - please recycle me.

Where do you source the ingredients for its teas?

Over 92% of the ingredients we use are made in-house from fresh produce sourced in Northeast India, particularly Manipur.

Do you have loose teas?

Yes, of course! Please check the product page for loose tea options.

Are Dweller teas available outside India?

Yes! You can now sip on our teas in the USA through Amazon.com. For other regions, reach us at hello@dwellerteas.com.
